Hello~!

These are some pictures from the first two days of our trip, in Taipei (台北), Taiwan (台灣)! As well as a few from the traveling over from America.

A circle of little girls playing their DS's at Dulles, waiting for the flight to Tokyo.

Priscilla and Madz looking INTENSELY excited for their 13 hour flight, 2 hour layover, then 2 hour flight.

The airline served ramen!! :D Yum!

Our dorm in Taipei Hero House (台北國軍英雄館), in Taipei. This room had 6 beds in it. There was only one ethernet outlet, so we all had to take turns on the internet. That wasn't so fun with 6 people...

Priscilla and Madz! Hmm, someone seems to be the color of paper. We showed this picture around and everyone laughed at the dramatic difference. Out of all the people in the camp (there are about 150 kids here) I am the only white one. However, Priscilla and I have revived our old prank of telling people I am a fourth Japanese, because I have a Japanese grandma. Since a lot of them are mixed, they don't really question it, although I don't look Asian at all. Haha.

Just a shot of Taipei. We ended up being really close to this shopping district called Ximending (西門町).

In Ximending, Madz tried something new! Not sure what it's called, no idea what's in it. Wasn't too bad.

Shaved ice! This is a really popular treat, as the stores go all out with tons of options at low prices. This was mango, so it had real mango slices, mango ice cream, some sort of cream, and of course the shaved ice at the bottom. It was DELICIOUS. And Madz actually ate the mango. And liked it!

So clean it's spelled with a "K"!

A shot of Taipei 101, so named because it has 101 floors. Second tallest building in the world. The first few levels are stores.

My first sighting of other Caucasians in Taiwan! (The count is currently at 21 sightings.)

Priscilla with the... mascots for the "International Flora Expo." They were setting up for an event in on of the buildings we visited.

A pretty shot of the Office of the President.
